Unboxing the Mayku Multiplier
Follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Place the Multiplier in a well-ventilated open area, on a surface that can take the weight of the machine (59kg unboxed). A minimum of 150mm is required behind the machine to allow for cables and other accessories. You will need a second person to help you during the Multiplier unboxing and lifting
- Use scissors or a knife to cut the straps and remove them, then take off the cardboard lid
- Pick up the activation leaflet and use your phone to scan the unique QR code to register your Multiplier. Alternatively, you can visit platform.mayku.me and enter the 20 digit serial number on the back of your machine
- Please read the complete instruction manual and keep it for future reference
- You'll also find a toolkit containing an allen key and a microfiber cloth. These are to help you maintain the machine over time. Learn more about the maintenance schedule here
- Remove the foam lid and slide off the cardboard outer box
- Remove the foam sides and front wedge
- Pick up the Multiplier with help from another person and place it on a clear and sturdy surface
- Connect the power cable, which you’ll find in your First Make Kit, to the back of the Multiplier and plug it into the wall socket
- Flip the power switch and turn on the Multiplier
- Follow the on-screen instructions to operate the Multiplier via the control panel

- Scan the QR code on the machine and register your Multiplier if you didn’t do this in step 3
Note: It's recommended to keep the packaging in a safe place as it's required to make a warranty claim. If the original packaging is no longer available, replacement packaging can be purchased via support@mayku.me
Making your first form
Follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Gather the material and the sample tool from the First Make Kit. The sample tool has been carefully designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the machine and help you understand some of the principles to follow when designing for thermoforming
- Go to the Multiplier menu and select the material and its thickness (e.g. HIPS, 1mm)
- Open the lid of the machine and position the sheet material within the guides of the forming bed
- Bring the lid down using the handle and turn the top lock to hold the material in place
- Lift up the handle – you will hear the air tanks start to pressurize
- The Multiplier knows exactly what temperature to heat the sheet to, and the heater will switch on automatically when ready
- When the heating process is almost done, position the sample tool in the center of the forming bed
- When the on-screen instructions indicate that the material is ready to form, quickly bring the lid down, slide the bottom lock, and press the forming button
- You will hear a noise as compressed air is released into the forming chamber. This pushes down the material with five tonnes of force
- When the cooldown process finishes, the air will be released from the pressure chamber
- Release the top and bottom locks, and open the Multiplier
- Remove the formed part and demold the tool
- Inspect the part quality and check the Form Score on the Multiplier screen. This will help you get better results by showing you how each part of the process went
