Safety instructions
Please read the Safety instructions in the Multiplier Manual. Mayku accepts no responsibility for injury to yourself or others, or damage to property or the Multiplier, nor will the warranty apply should the Mayku Multiplier be used inappropriately or if the instructions are not followed correctly.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Always use appropriate personal protective equipment when working with the Multiplier:
- Heat resistant gloves (category 2) - when removing hot molds or sheets
- Ear protection - for tank venting during maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance
Ensure the weekly and monthly checks are followed to keep the machine in a healthy condition. Guidance can be found here.
Reduction of noise and vibrations
The Mayku Multiplier operates at a maximum noise level of approximately 65 dB when at its loudest. During the charging and pressure buildup phase, the noise level typically ranges from around 55 to 60 dB. When the machine off-gasses and disperses pressure, the pressure tank or dome reaches around 65 dB. It's worth noting that this noise level is below the threshold that would require ear protection, however, ear protection may be preferable for frequent users and/or if sensitive to noise.
To reduce noise and vibrations:
- Ensure the Multiplier is placed on a level and even surface.
- Ensure the work surface is of solid construction.
To ensure the stability of machinery:
- Ensure the Multiplier is on a surface that is rated for the weight of the machine.
- All four feet shall be fully on the surface
Lifting and moving the machine
Follow instructions on the box and only move the multiplier with at least two people.
Ventilation
- When using the Multiplier ensure you are working in a well ventilated space.
- Active carbon filters will be useful with cleaning the air. A stand alone active carbon filter can help regulate the room's air. This should be placed directly next to or behind the multiplier.
Can you keep the machine in a living space, does it produce a smell?
It is generally safe to use the Mayku Multiplier in a home environment. However, it's important to exercise caution and use the machine in accordance with the provided instructions and safety guidelines to ensure safe operation and minimize any potential disruptions.
Fumes are down to the type of sheet material you use. It's always good practice to keep the machine in a well ventilated space. Check the 'Multiplier Material MSDS' for more information.
Third-party materials
Users should check the health and safety requirements of materials from third party suppliers. Mayku takes no responsibility for incompatible, hazardous, or dangerous materials being used with the machine in custom mode.
