Here’s where you can get really creative. There’s a whole world of possibilities when it comes to making your templates. Hey, you can even use items you might have lying around the house. We’ve even been known to use digestive biscuits as coaster templates in the past!
Materials ideal for making templates include: soft wood; MDF; most plastics; high-density tooling foam; 3D printed plastics; PLA, ABS; resin; stacked card and paper; Play Dough; air-drying clay; foodstuff such as potatoes or bananas; metals.
Avoid using: Plasticine; wet clay; origami paper with large voids in the centre (they will crumble); freshly spray painted objects; living things and body parts (ouch!).
