In some very rare cases the cooling fans in the top of the FormBox can become disconnected in transit. If this happens the FormBox will alert you by sounding an alarm with two orange flashing lights. The FormBox needs to keep itself cool under operation so if your fans have a fault the heater will not function until the problem is fixed.
If you see this fault please contact us and we will confirm this with you.
You can send your FormBox back to us and you will receive a new unit right away.
If you would like to attempt to repair the fault yourself the procedure is as follows:
Before you begin
Ensure you read this article throughly before beginning work, if you are not confident that you can complete the steps involved, please send the unit to us and we will replace your FormBox for you.
- Ensure the FormBox is disconnected from the mains power supply.
- Disconnect the vacuum cleaner if you have one plugged into the vacuum cleaner socket.
- Clear a stable work space space to disassemble the FormBox.
- You will need a 2mm Hex key or screwdriver.
Remove the top case
Remove the screws that hold the top case in place. They are indicated in yellow on this diagram:
Check the cooling fan cables
There are two cooling fans in the top case, they are positioned at the back of the machine on either side. The connecting cables should be securely attached. Be careful when lifting the top case as this will put tension on the cables.
The inside of your top case should look like this:
Reconnect your cooling fan(s) if necessary
If either of your FormBox cooling fans are disconnected, carefully reconnect them. Ensure the connector is the right way around.
Reattach the top case
Screw the plastic top case back onto the FormBox using the same screws you removed earlier.
NEVER POWER ON OR USE THE FORMBOX WITHOUT
SECURELY RE-ATTACHING THE TOP CASE FIRST
Your FormBox should now work as normal.
My FormBox still isn't working?
If your FormBox is still not functioning correctly, the cooling fan itself may be faulty or there may be another issue with your machine. If this is the case, contact our support team and we will send you a new FormBox immediately.
